Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE/TKM) Building, Thessaloniki

Greece’s first suspended building

Built on a 1,420 m² site along Thessaloniki’s waterfront, with a total built area of 2,103 m², the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE/TKM) Building is one of the city’s most distinctive engineering landmarks. The suspended upper structure creates the impression of floating above the ground, showcasing an innovative approach to structural design and construction.

Identity
TEE/TKM Building

The building accommodates the administrative headquarters of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE/TKM), office spaces and a multi-purpose auditorium. Its waterfront location and suspended structural concept preserve visual continuity between the city and the sea, creating an open and permeable ground level.

Performance
Structural Engineering

A central reinforced concrete core carries the building's structural loads, while the upper floors are suspended through a specialised structural system. The project required advanced structural solutions to withstand seismic forces, high wind loads and the demanding foundation conditions created by its proximity to the Thermaic Gulf.
