A contemporary healthcare environment for children and families

The Second Paediatric Clinic at AHEPA University Hospital underwent a complete renovation of approximately 430–500 m², modernising its healthcare infrastructure and improving the everyday experience of patients and their families. The intervention introduced new inpatient rooms, specialised neonatal facilities and upgraded support areas in accordance with contemporary healthcare standards.

The refurbishment of the university clinic was delivered through a donation by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, strengthening one of Northern Greece's leading paediatric healthcare units. The design focused on creating a safe, functional and welcoming environment for children, families and healthcare professionals.

Functionality & Patient Care

Former eight-bed wards were replaced with contemporary twin-bed patient rooms with private bathrooms, significantly improving comfort, privacy and the overall patient experience. New medical gas systems, nurse call systems and fully upgraded HVAC services further enhanced the clinic's operational efficiency and quality of care.

Healthcare & Educational Facilities

The project includes new inpatient rooms, a dedicated neonatal room with three specialised cots, upgraded hospitality furnishings and a teaching room supporting the clinic's educational and academic activities. Materials, finishes and colour palettes were carefully selected to create a calm and supportive environment for young patients.
