Modernising a municipal sports facility

Following an extensive programme of renovation and redevelopment, the Strebenioti Sports Complex was upgraded with new auxiliary football pitches, contemporary changing facilities and infrastructure that meets today’s standards of safety and functionality. The project revitalises one of Thessaloniki’s most important municipal sports venues, supporting community sport and everyday use.

The intervention included the construction of new changing room facilities and football pitches with synthetic turf, designed in accordance with the specifications of the General Secretariat of Sports. The functional organisation of the complex supports athletes, coaches, referees and visitors, creating a comprehensive environment for sport and recreation.

Safety & Durability

The football pitches were constructed with an integrated drainage system, engineered sub-base layers and high-performance synthetic turf, ensuring safe playing conditions and long-term durability. The new changing facilities also incorporate contemporary MEP systems, mechanical ventilation and robust materials designed for intensive daily use.

Sports Infrastructure

Athlete Support Facilities

The development includes changing rooms for two teams, a dedicated referees' room, a first-aid room, sports equipment storage and contemporary sanitary facilities with domestic hot water. The facilities were designed to support the day-to-day operation of the complex while providing safety, comfort and a high standard of service for all users.
